For Hyundai Car!

In a bid to counter growing competition in the
compact car segment Hyundai Motor India
(HMIL), on Monday, appointed Sania Mirza as
brand ambassador of Getz–the trendy premium
hatchback from the Hyundai’s stable. Sania, will
endorse the Getz in all Hyundai promotions for
the next three years. Sania’s endorsement for
Getz has come at such a juncture of time when it
is facing stiff competition ever since Suzuki
introduced Swift in the market. Asked why
Hyundai picked up Sania for endorsing Getz
HMIL President B V R Subbu said “Sania’s sterling
performance in the field of tennis, her self-
confidence and attitude are totally in syncronisation with the youthful
‘Getz U' positioning of the car. ...For promotion of Getz we will continue to
focus on younger generation,” he said adding further that “now with
association of Sania with Getz we will make it the choice of ladies.”

Sania Bows Out

Sania Mirza saw her amazing run at the US Open Grand Slam come to an
end as she bowed to the might of number one seed Maria Sharapova of
Russian in the women's singles fourth round here today. Sania put up a
brave performance while going down 2-6 1-6 to the 2004 Wimbledon
champion in 59 minutes at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The scoreline bore no indication of the tough fight put up by Sania who
proved in that one hour on court that she had it in her to fight it out the top
players on the biggest stage. Sania's powerful hitting often caught Sharapova
breathless, the pace and depth of her strokes troubling the Russian great
deal. Crucially, it was her backhand with sharp angles that posed problems
for her opponent who occupied the world number one spot a week ago.

Well done Sania! Take some rest and return with more energy.
