Sania Back to Rank 32


Sania's absence from the WTA circuit due to a wrist injury has seen her slip to rank 32 in the latest rankings issued on Monday. Sania has 917 points.

Sania underwent a wrist injury in the US and is aiming to make a comeback for the French Open next month.

She has, however, remained static in the doubles list, holding on to the 19th spot with 1830 points.

Sania Moves Up in Singles and Doubles Rankings

Sania Mirza had undergone a surgery last Thursday on her troublesome right wrist in Miami, which would put her out of action for at least four weeks. In March 2007, Sania had a surgery on her knee.

The wrist surgery may have forced Sania Mirza out of action for a month but she has still managed to gain a spot in the WTA Rankings, rising to the 30th position with 917 points in the latest list issued on Monday.

Sania's doubles standing has also improved by three notches to 19th this week. She now has 1830 points in the doubles' list.

Sania Remains 31st in Singles, Moves Up to 21st in Doubles

Sania Mirza, struggling to recover from a wrist injury, has clung on to her 31st position in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings issued Monday.

Sania has moved up one place in the doubles ranking to 21st position.

Sania, who withdrew from the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami last month, made the singles pre-quarterfinal at the Pacific Life open and reached doubles semi-finals with American partner Bethanie Mattek at the same event.
